A lot of stuff happening lately, but I am the only one who’s noticed that the PriorSmart litigation alerts have been dipping into the single digits lately? Is the winter weather keeping lawyers away from the office and out of the courtroom?
- IBM and Samsung sign a major cross-license deal. Joff Wild asks if its the biggest cross license we’ve ever seen?
- The gloves come off in the LG/Sony wars.
- The patent office is conducting a town hall meeting to find out how to improve Patent & Trademark Depository Libraries. (Everyone under 25 is asking, what the heck is a library?)
- Also, a bit belated, but OSS company Red Hat is defending Microsoft?
UPDATE 2/9/11
President Obama mentions patent reform in remarks to US Chamber of Commerce.
“Red Hat is defending Microsoft”
Think about it, they have very similar roots and ethical standards.
1) Both have been built on exploitation of others inventions.
2) Both have an entitlement mentality.
3) Both whine about mythical patent trolls and demand get out of jail free cards in the form of Patent Deform.
